I have not touched on link building, marketing, promotion, and outreach yet but….
… here is the start.
This is a very basic post in terms of information and strategies, but it is a start and I will add more and more to this theme so we can all grow our websites.
What I mention below I have just carried out on my own website and I have recorded an Over-The-Shoulder video as I did it. I am editing this video and hopefully it will be ready to watch soon. I literally record everything I did so you can follow along and repeat for your website.
But for now here is what I want you to do. If you need help my video will be up for you soon.
STEP 1 – Register your website with directory websites.
STEP 2 – Setup social media accounts.
Facebook (add a page to your normal Facebook account)
Twitter (set up new account)
Pinterest (set up new account)
G+ (link up with Gmail account)
In all of these social media accounts add your website URL.
STEP 3 – Add 5 blog comments.
Do a search in Google for: best [your main keyword] + “leave a reply” or some other relevant search that will bring up websites that are related in some way to your website.
E.G. best gas BBQ + “leave a reply”
This will bring up a search result for websites around your topic that allow you to leave a comment. Read the article and leave a genuine and relevant comment and put your website URL in to the correct field and submit your comment.
Like I said, I have just completed these 3 steps and I am editing my video for you. Plus I have also recorded a video about setting up your website RSS feed correctly. I will let you know as soon as these are ready. Plus any future content and link building I do on my BBQ website.
Have a great one,
P.S. The social media accounts are fantastic places to get inspiration for content for your website, as well as being a great place to start making contacts with other bloggers and influential people that could end up helping you and your website out (more on this later).
P.P.S Keep a spreadsheet of all the places you have submitted your website to and places you have entered your website URL so you can track to see what you have done and which links are showing up as pointing to your website.
