While it is relatively easy to add content to a WordPress website we need to structure it correctly to ensure visitors can have the experience they are looking for and also we get these visitors to behave how we want them too.
Never loose sight of the nature and purpose of your websites, and that is to initially attract visitors from search engines (mainly Google) and then funnel then through to Amazon where they will hopefully make a purchase and earn us commission.
The video below outlines how you should structure your Amazon affiliate website.
The primary structure of the website is a mix of product pages and longer-form articles. The product pages goal is to get people to click through to Amazon via affiliate tracked links, and the goal of the longer-form articles is to attract visitors via the search engines and then filter them through to the product pages.
If you structure your Amazon affiliate website like this you will start to generate Amazon commissions.
QUESTION – Why not miss out the product pages and just link straight from the long-form articles to Amazon.
ANSWER – Your longer-form articles will stand a better chance of ranking higher in search engines if they are not full of affiliate links. Google and other search engines wants to provide the highest quality to the people using their service to search the internet, and it may interpret a webpage full of affiliate links as a bit spammy. So to reduce the chance of this happening we like to internal pages (i.e. product pages) from our articles. Also, the process of interlinking webpages on websites helps improve the visibility of all webpages and also improves the overall appeal and authority.
Steps 5 and 6 cover product pages and longer-form articles.
